Engage (revised AboutMe)

I made a handshake agreement when I was 15 years old. I made said agreement with a lawyer, so I was really on the wrong side of the shake to ever argue my way out of it. That’s how I ended up in Marketing.

As previously stated about my impending (or inherent, more self exploration will determine that) Yupster (totally coining it, thanks for the confidence @downwarddarling) status.

Said handshake deal had terms that included working in a business related field during the summers of my pre-college years. The terms were pretty fair. My choice was people, and I just had to figure out the best way to interact with them. I’ve been making various things look pretty to people for about a decade, now Marketing and I have become pretty good friends.

I have yet to regret it, there are so many different mediums you can pursue while in this field. I have done creative. I have done audio/video. I have done extensive research on why people spend their money (its so much more fun than it sounds).  Actually at this point I oddly enough know about 200 zip codes by heart – you guessed it, some places still do print mailings!

I like people, I like knowing what they like, I like media creation and I love color. Seems to fit.

School was a bit different. Let’s start with saying instead of creating a personal Myspace page way back when, I created one for Henry the 8th. Then subsequently made six more for each of his wives, because obviously he was not a man who liked to be lonely.

I got a BA studying things like Henry the 8th and learning a couple different languages. One of which I can write well in! It’s one of the base languages of English – but tricks on you, there’s like four of those, not just Latin.

Now I found myself in Brooklyn. How I got there is a less exciting part of my life; and it’s been a short life for now. I haven’t even gotten through four seasons here!

I need to learn Brooklyn – and you get to do it with me! (If you weren’t excited before I can only imagine how emotional invested you are now.)

This already feels too long.  But summer was for business life experience and winter for academic life lessons. Now I still get to the play the role of pretending to know what to do with my life; all while waiting for the train bell to ring to tell me I’ve arrived at my station. Listen, it’s fun! Try it!
